The farmstead Melikhovo is a museum-preserve of Anton Chekhov. Writer’s manuscripts, personal belongings, books, photographs, furniture, as well as, paintings of his friends artists I. Levitan, V. Polenov, N. Chekhov and others are stored here. The Melikhovo museum was founded in 1940, with the participation of Chekhov’s sister, Maria Pavlovna, and his nephew Sergey Mikhailovich, and its first director was Pyotr Nikolayevich Solovyov.CHEKHOV MELIHOVO TRIP TO ANCIENT CITIES OF RUSSIA
The museum includes a manor house, an out-house built by the writer in 1894 to accommodate guests, having become the place of his literary work, a garden, vegetable lot, a pond “Aquarium”, on the bank of which Chekhov liked to sit with a fishing rod, a windrow, an outhouse kitchen with peasant household items of the XIX century.
Manor Lopasnya-Zachatievskoe. Sightseeing: an empire-style manor house, a five-domed church of the Conception of St. Anne, a lime park with a cascade of ponds and regular planning of the first half of the 18th century. The history of the estate is associated with four famous Russian noble families: Vasilchikov – Lansky – Goncharov – Pushkin. The last owners of the Lopasnenskaya estate were the nieces of Natalia Nikolaevna Pushkina-Lanskaya, the sisters Goncharovs.
