Alexander Frolov offers an interesting walk on a very off-standard route. We will walk almost from the Crimean bridge, across the great bend of the Moskva River, to the Rostov embankment. At the end of the walk we are waiting for a wide panorama of the ancient Dorogomilov from the height of the left bank of the river. Along the way we will see two churches of the XVII century, belonging to different architectural types and retaining their original architecture to different extents. We will get acquainted with the most Tolstoy lanes of Moscow, we’ll stand at the granite Lev Nikolaevich, pass through one of the biggest squares of the center of Moscow. Then we will see a large complex of buildings and small architectural forms of the mid-twentieth century with features of the Art Deco style – Frunze Military Academy. As if a miniature mansion of the epoch of the Moscow Empire style at the beginning of the XIX century has been preserved for the sake of contrast near the enormous Academy building. In addition, we will look at several houses of the early Soviet era, and see how the demolished church of the Annunciation on the Berezhki still exists in virtual space: it is indicated by the neighboring building.
