The walk will pass through the area, called the “Old Gardens” in the 15th century. Once here the city ended, there were suburban monasteries, the country court of the Grand Duke. Later, Moscow’s best people settled here, military and artisan settlements appeared. This part of the city became both merchant and handicraft. The traces of all stages of history are preserved here and now. Somewhere in the form of names, somewhere like a grid of lanes and blind alleys, somewhere like the remains of the ancient manors. Some of them have been restored, others are still waiting for restoration. Some are endangered. The temples and palaces coexist with ordinary houses.
All this can be seen, touched, felt during a walk.
