Alexander Frolov will lead us by the untrodden paths along a seemingly obvious route: from the Pushkin Square to the Conservatory. One would seem that everything is close – and such different in their atmosphere areas! Here, between Tverskaya and Nikitskaya streets, once the river Chertory flew here, along its banks there were settlements and ancient chambers. Until now, you can find here the remains of the ancient manor houses, hidden far behind the red line of the lanes: formerly their front sides faced not what it looks like nowadays. So much interesting and completely unexplored – it’s so easy to get lost. But not with our guide!
We will see a part of Tverskoy Boulevard with the houses of the Moscow Empire style; we will pass Leontyevsky lane, named so in honor of the general Leontyev, related to Romanova; we’ll look at the monuments of Magomayev and Khachaturian, and also find three churches and a place where the fourth once stood. We’ll finish at the conservatory, where we’ll talk about it.
