Vladimir was the capital of the powerful Vladimir-Suzdal principality in the XII-XIII centuries. Bogolyubovo is an old town on the banks of the river Klyazma. 14 km from Vladimir. In the 12th century it was the residence of the Vladimir duke Andrew Bogolyubsky, and a century later a monastery arose here.
